The equation [I(γ)=d*d*E(γ)] only applies when the distance d is large enough to view the lamps or luminaries as a point source approximately. EN 130-1:2004 specifies the requirements of measurement distance: The measurement distance shall be at least 5 times the largest luminous dimension of the test source.
However for luminaries with distributions significantly different from a cosine, the above ratio will give rise to errors in excess of 1%. For such luminaries a measurement distance ratio in excess of 10:1 may be needed.
The minimum measuring distance for a floodlight with reflector can be determined by the distance of “beam cross over” point as [D min=a*a*(2a/5+1)/4f+2af/s].
However, the measuring distance can not be too large either, it is firstly limited by the space of the darkroom, and secondly it is limited by the sensitivity of the photometer detector. Generally said, for large luminaries, the measuring distance of 20-30 meters is reasonable.

Lighting Test Rules: High Pressure and High Temperature Experiment

A: High Temperature Test
The main testing equipments: the constant temperature chamber, thermometer, pressure regulator, the voltmeter and clock.
The main test projects: high temperature and low voltage starter, high temperature and safety operation.
Number of tests: 10.
Test methods: Put the lamps and lanterns under test in the constant temperature chamber, connect the circuit, raise the output voltage of the voltage regulator to 180 V (pressure regulator for the lamps and lanterns only power the lamps and lanterns under test), open the power supply of the constant temperature chamber, set the temperature at60℃, open the power source of the lamps and lanterns when the temperature rises to60 ℃, observe whether the lamps and lanterns work normally, and then raise the pressure regulator to 250 V and let it work for 24 hours, watch the experiment result. When meeting the abnormal phenomenon of the damage of the lamps and lanterns or the deformation of the heated materials, the experiment is not qualified.
B: High Temperature High Pressure Shock Initiation Test
The main test equipments: the constant temperature chamber, thermometer, pressure regulator, the voltmeter and clock.
The main test projects: high temperature starting performance and reliability
Number of tests: 10.
Testing methods: According to the above experiment, under the condition of high temperature, raise the voltage regulator to 250 V, switch the lamps for three times and each time interval is no less than eight seconds (8 seconds means that all the capacitance of the lamps and lanterns discharge to reduce the mutual interference), and in the process, lamps and lanterns should not be damaged, otherwise they will be considered as not qualified.
